oh that looks exactly like the kind of 'birthday' cake that we always buy, we even have a (French) name for it: gateau LOL. What a beautiful memory!!

Thank you Anja! Those were the best cakes in the 60's,70's etc... now everything is so sweet with fondant etc. I guess I am a dinosaur :) Here where I live now our bakeries are in the grocery stores. Ah you are so right re memories! Have a beautiful birthday tomorrow!
