Process:

APP Frondescence AP5 was placed, then sp5 was added on multiply blend mode at 69% opacity. Drug FIT3K-2 page over these. Turned off unwanted masks/stitching. APP Frondescence SPs 1 & 3 and AP1 were clipped to frame masks. My photo was added and clipped to the main mask. MMRoses psd file was opened to individually place the leaf x2, heart, words, rose, and splatters. Added the flossy stitchez psd file, placed over frame, then added color balance, hue saturation, levels, and clipped spindriftAP1(color burn), SP5(color) and ATStudious3(color) at different blend modes to the threads to acquire the variegated natural thread look, I was going for. Completed layout with Notions and text.

What a lovely little tribute to the rose! The sketches and labels remind me of a garden journal :-) Nice choice of soft colors - the soft gray b/g, the soft green and the soft rose. I miss my roses from Portland. Some people try to grow them here in So Cal, but they are not a good climate fit :-) Oh and I love the flossy stitiches!

Thank you Diane! At my last house, I had 5 David Austin bushes, and I really miss them after we downsized. This little bush was one of those from the grocery store floral dept. and it has surprised me all summer. That's too bad your climate doesn't work well for roses. Thanks for noticing the flossy stitches. I saw something that inspired that technique. ;)
