Journaling reads: Fortitude to me is when you determine to keep on going when you don’t feel like it. Every day I have to make a conscious effort to get up and go to the walking track at the park at Union Cross. Fortitude is showing yourself that “you can” when others say “you can’t!” No one is telling me I can’t except for my inner voice. I have to show it who’s the boss every day. Fortitude is the characteristic of the strong, not the weak. But fortitude also builds strength in the weak. So how do we go from being weak to being strong? Personally, I have to trust in God for my strength each day to help me do what I know I need to do for my health’s sake. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) reminds me of this. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” 5/7/25
