This month’s Oscraps November Border Challenge was all about using a patterned background paper and incorporating at least one word art element. I was excited to dive into this one because it’s ideal for an art journaling (AJ) page, and I love how challenges like this let me explore new creative approaches.
For my page, I embraced stamps and brushes to build up a unique border. Rather than going the floral route, I layered different textures and patterns to give the page a rich, layered look that still feels “me.” The word art I selected ties everything together, adding a hint of storytelling to the layout. I really enjoyed stepping outside my usual style and leaning into this more graphic, layered border approach.
This right page is my entry for the challenge, but I also made a matching left page for my album (which can be seen on my blog and Instagram).
