Persimmons are a symbol of good luck, longevity and joy in many New Year celebrations.
They're an end-of-year tradition in our family now.
They remind me of my dad. He told us we wouldn't like the ones that he found on the ground in the fall, and kept them all for himself. Years later, I learned they were wonderful when perfectly ripe.
HA HA, this one made me laugh. I didn't know that about persimmons, we have lots of them around here. And my Tilly loves them, of course she likes me to help her find them and peel off the stem. This time of year, we have to watch her if we go out in the pasture, she will disappear to hunt the ripe ones. Love your persimmon/pumpkin

How fun!!! I have never eaten a persimmon! I have heard of them, but never even seen one in person, I think! lol Love the toad and ravens "helping out"
