We bought our grandson two Cape Cod sweatshirts on deep discount in huge sizes, and were surprised to see him wearing one already. Let's just say I was overcome with the cuteness of it all.
My process was opposite of how I usually proceed, as in this layout, on a blank canvas, I arranged my pivotal images: the extracted photo, the shell from the Artplay Palette positioned in my grandson's hands (using a layer mask to make it sort of reasonably fit), the sea shanty, a bit of journaling, and the beaded threadz from the wordART set. I then added a few pink-ish Fotoglos from my stash to pick up the sneaker color and to accentuate the shell, and then the fun began—building the background. Usually I begin work with the primary image and the background, so this felt kind of strange. Anyway, I chose an Artsy Paper, moved my imagery around to accommodate the textures/colors of the paper, then added the flag, foliage, and Sea Sprinklez. The final touch was a bit of peach brushwork from the Artplay Palette, trying to integrate those sneakers into the design so they looked intentional.
