Art Journaling February Week 2 Challenge

As most of you know by now, my soul mate and the love of my life passed away on January 22nd. The theme for this month is Discover, and I dug deep into my emotions as I tried to convey how I'm "trying" to discover how to be a widow and not a wife of 44 years.

I used the Life Line Grief Kit and Life Line Grief Word Arts and Brushes by Lynn Anzelc Designs and

Cheryl, my heart goes out to you. My hubby is 92 and we will be married 36 years in March and I didn't think it would be this long, given our age difference, but he is shooting for 40 years. He is my soul mate and I love him more each year we are together. I will cherish whatever time we have left together. You are in my thoughts and prayers for your spiritual healing during this very challenging time in your life. Hugs Char

Oh Char, your wonderful comments mean so much to me. We had an age difference too and I had Chuck for a lot of wonderful years. He was 90 when he passed away and it seems like yesterday that we were married. Thanks so much for your kind words and I'll be thinking of you and returning your hugs. My husband was in good health until October when he had a gall bladder attack, then went into sepsis. He was never the same after that. I wish your husband continued health. :hug2::heartpumpred:

I think it's good for you to share your thoughts with us in this layout! You did it wonderfully! The kit fits your mood perfectly. I think of you and hug you - even if from a distance :heartpumppink:

I feel all of your long distance hugs, Susanne. I found this kit and it was so perfect for what I'm going through. This divided template lets me "bite off small chunks" of what I'm feeling. :heartpumpred: :hug4:

Cheryl, you are being wise to find ways of putting your feelings on a page... discovering the new path of widowhood is hard. Sending you all my love and support as you journey down this new life you will be living. :hug2:

Thanks so much for the love and support, Kay. I told you that you were one of my heroes (on another board) and I meant it. It really helps, especially now when I'm so raw, to scrap my feelings. :heartpumpred: :hug2:

Losing a soul mate and the love of your life is an incredibly difficult experience, and my heart goes out to you during this challenging time. Your courage in sharing your journey of discovery amidst profound grief is truly inspiring. It takes immense strength to navigate the transition from being a spouse of 44 years to being a widow. Wishing you peace and comfort as you continue to discover and redefine your path forward.

Oh, Sonja, thank you for your beautiful words. You don't know how much they mean to me. Scrapping is my therapy and it has been so helpful to me to work through this in my art journaling. :heartpumpred: :heartpumpred:
