2023 Travel Project p26 Aug 18, Final Letter, p1

This is the last letter I have of Dad's, August 18, 1951. He was honorably discharged Jan. 17, 1952, and made it home to Dallas safely. It has been quite a journey. I only have more questions now and no way to get answers. Even so, I feel very satisfied with this project, and I think my brothers or anyone else who ever gets to see the book will be impressed. Dad's letters have been in someone's possession for over 70 years, either my grandmother's, his own, my brother's, or mine. I've probably had them for over 20 years, and never took the time to read them. When I received all his old slides earlier this year from my brother, the idea to use them in Anna's Travel Project blossomed and everything just fell into place, and now I have a beautiful keepsake.

I intend to go back through each page and add QR codes for his handwritten letters.

The Travel Template Album p 12 was placed and photos (with curves, Sharpen, Unsharp Mask adjustments) were clipped to the masks. Black & white photos were enhanced with light leaks or color fill. Eudaimonia Solid Paper 2 was placed for the foundation below the template layers. The letter text was placed within the fotoblendz, which was enhanced for coverage and filled with a lighter shade than the paper. Some small frames were removed. Stains around the fotoblendz were enhanced and changed color with Linear Burn blend mode. Embellished with stains, splatters, elements, brushes, glows, and finished with journaling and title.

And truly a keepsake it is.It is so liberating to find some answers and join his journey.I think you should be really satisfied with your results. Some bits and pieces remain unanswered but may slowly resolve. Excellent endeavor.

Congratulations - this was a big undertaking and you've done it beautifully! Again love the orange!

Congratulations and what an amazing project! The letters and photos will be treasured forever. I have a box of photos and letters from WWII that were written to my mother. I've read a few, but have no idea what to do with them. Maybe some day I'll be inspired to match letters with photos and do something with them.
