Yes, very scary, especially if you live in Europe, drive a few hours and you are in Ukraine. We don't know what the beast Putin is going to do. I can't even think about democracy now, especially when you see how the Ukraine is in ruins, the very poor people there, the children with fear in their eyes, and the poor children who have been deported by Putin to Russia, to go mad.
Marleen, you and yours are in my thoughts. Sending you and your countrymen light to reduce your burdens. And, of course, I support Ukraine and its brave people in their struggle against evil. Please take care, my dear friend.

I choose to believe that cooler heads will prevail in our country and the world - it may not happen in 2024 but I think that is up for debate. The House Defense bill tried to eliminate aid for Ukraine but failed to do so ("A series of five proposals to limit U.S. involvement in Ukraine failed, however, with large swaths of the GOP voting with Democrats in opposition."). I am reminded of the phrase "it is darkest before the dawn - I just wish Dawn would get in 2024!

I'm not seeing signs of salvation, hope I'm wrong. What I AM seeing is an unprecedented level of rage that often is barely suppressed. I could never have anticipated this strange world order.
