Spätzle

A childhood memory is having Spätzle at my grandmother's, a recipe handed down to her from her mother, Marie Kautter. This is my great grandmother and the scale she used to measure out her recipes.

Process
I keep this one simple and used Anna's beautifully crafted artsy paper for the background. The photo was clipped to the frame mask and a solid paper was clipped to the frame (blending mode changed to color burn to give the frame an antique look). The scale was extracted with a shadow added for dimension. The page was completed by adding wordart and a MM Homemade element.

Do you have the scales? How precious if you do! My Granny's recipes were a "handful of this...a handful of that..." her baking was always perfect lol! What a special page and I just had to go google Spatzle!
