I spend quite a lot of time on Ancestry sites going down the rabbit hole of family history, I'm not terribly disciplined about it and as a result jump about between different strands but I do definitely want to print a book using the photographs I do have! This is my Dad, his Father and his cousin, no date on this photograph so I'll take a guess it's around 1939.
I was all over the place with my process, when I looked at the artsy paper from Family AP it immediately made me think of a landscape so I started with that and added additional transfers and overlays from Siblings AP and Generations AP - changing the blending modes. The tree is to symbolise family and the roots that travel deep so that was the next thing I did using the branch from AP Family to create roots; duplicating, changing size etc. I then added the photograph duplicating once with additional layer Overlay mode to give a bit of colour there is a transfer on top colour burn mode. There was something missing - I faffed around moving the figures about the page trying to get a composition I was happy with - much faffing! I then tried adding another paper from AP Family, changed the mode to colour burn and BINGO! Added the word elements, journalling and called it done...no going back!
