I finally finished scanning my Dad's slides, which was kind of disappointing. Approximately half of them were someone else's (possibly a Marine buddy who kept in touch for years, sending him many slides).
But I did find a few gems (and these just happened to be perfect for the beautiful new Collection Sayonara): the large photo of him in his brand-new USMC uniform in San Diego, before shipping out to Korea, and quite a few from Korea, that had an awful reddish-brown tint, so I used Lightroom presets to desaturate and color tone the two small photos. At least I think that's him standing by the sign, that too-short tie seemed a dead giveaway.
I started with the Sayonara Artsy Layered Template, clipping the photo to one of the white transfer layers and added the fotoblendz layer from MultiLayered FotoBlendz 5-4 on the lower half of the duplicated/clipped photo to get more coverage. I didn't adjust hues of any other template layers, as they matched so well to my photos. I placed Solid Paper 5 below the template layers. I clipped the small photos to two masks and Solid Paper 5 to 1B mask. Also clipped 3 copies of Solid Paper 4 to each frame to tone down the white. Embellished with WordArt Cluster, elements, Button Threadz, Title and journaling.
