The neighborhood is covered with black-eyed susans. I hadn’t really thought about them being a late-summer flower, but they are. We waited until Monday to go to Portland Nursery, knowing they would be mobbed on this warm weekend. Their perennials are arranged alphabetically I could not remember the latin name, so asked for black-eyed susans. Rudbeckia, of course. And now we have 6 of them, 3 in the front moss-island bed, 3 in the back bed. I love them. Just a few days after planting, they starting blooming. I was surprised to find a lady bug on one of them, Did she come along on the ride from the nursery?
These susans are so beautiful, especially up close and personal - I wanted to create an explosion of them on my pages.
I started with ArtPlay Ephemeral Solid Paper 4, adjusting and deepening the color to a rich dark brown.
The large left photo is blended using Ephemeral FotoBlendz, the right ones using 12x12 FotoBLendz.
Flowers 2 and Wild Grass 1 and Butterflies brushes were added to the composition, using photos clipped to some, or brushing different colors onto different parts, adding Drop Shadows and Outer Glows.
MultiMedia Documents 6 envelope added under a photo, with another photo clipped to teh paper in Overlay Mode.
Added the "R" from Acrylic Alpha with a Drop Shadow. Made the Drop Shadow a separate layer, in Linear Blend mode, then reduced the opacity of the clear letter to 30% so the dark brown shows through.
Title from Ephemeral Word Art filled with yellow.
