Thought the Lens

Inspiration – My great grandniece took me out for lunch to pay me back for helping her with her taxes. And then a couple days later she came by to show off her new car to me and her grandmother. Meanwhile I have been going through old photos in my Lightroom catalog seeing pictures of her when she was younger.

Start – a new file File>New 12x12 300

Paper – Place Solid Paper 1 above the background layer

Mask – added Hipster Plume Fotoblendz 8.4 above the paper. I attached a photo to the mask layer and colored the other layers to match using Edit>Fill

Transfers – placed Artsy Transfer 4 was placed under the mask in the upper right-hand corner.

Frames – put postage stamp frames 2.4 and 2.6 on the page. Urban Stichez frame 2.7 I placed over the picture attached to the mask and adjust to fit.

Photos – attached the picture of a younger niece to the mask layer of the Fotoblendz using Layer>Create Clipping Mask. Then the newer pictures I attached to the postage stamp frames using the same method.

Elements – One of the dried flowers I placed along one of the edges of the stitch frame. I put the blue ribbon above it. I took the postage stamp, the felt flower and the word art Joy and placed in the gap between the Masked photo and one of the postage stamp frames. To lead the eye from one picture to the next.

Words -Used the word art Through the Lens as a title painting a little white beneath to help it stand out more. Then I typed a quick paragraph about my page and it’s meaning to me.

Brushes - Used brush 1 and 7 in a gold in opposite corners to help create a visual triangle with the gold in the masked photo.

Great page for documenting the changes of life! I like how you used the stitched frame and the postage frames together.

How fun getting together with your grandniece for lunch! Love the then and now photos and stitched frame!

I love seeing pages with then and now photos. It really shows how much time flies and at the same time it's a wonderful moment to look back and enjoy the memories. Brilliant layout. STANDING O.

What a wonderful page. I love the before and after photos. She is lovely. Congrats on your Standing O! ♥

Congrats on the Standing O! This is a great Time Traveler layout, and I'm especially enjoying the tonal changes between the "then" and "now" photos.
