Right side journaling reads: We awoke to the second snow of the year on Sunday, January 16th. Church was done online because the snow had been expected! The temperatures were very cold, so the snow hung around for a week, even with the sunshine that was there each day! I took a walk in the woods and it was beautiful! It reminds me of the verse, Job 38:22a “Has thou entered into the treasures of the snow?” Even though I normally don’t like snow, I do enjoy its beauty, especially if all I have to do is look at it out the window instead of getting out in it. But, it was so pretty that I had to do just that and take a walk in the woods!
We ended the month with more snow coming on the 29th! It melted pretty quickly, however, except for those areas that remain in the shadows throughout the day.
Pictures:
- Main one: Seeing the snow on the backs of the neighbor’s cows was a beautiful sight, but also made me thankful that I was NOT a cow and that I had a nice, warm place to be out of the weather! 1/16/22
- Bottom to top:
- And a 3rd snowfall of the year on the 29th! We had more snow in January than we usually have all year!
- We watched this young hawk, as its mom was nearby, learning to hunt, we believe. 1/28/22
- This red-bellied woodpecker was just beautiful against the snowy backdrop. 1/17/22
- I loved watching the dark-eyed juncos and the beautiful towhee finding the birdseed in the snow under the feeders. 1/16/22
