This is my standard way of creating the pages for my book and at the bottom, if I did anything unusual it is listed.
Start by adding two template pages to the double-page master template I have that is the correct size and has the guides.
Photos - I attach the photos for each page to the frame mask layers and to the focal mask using Layer>Create Clipping Mask
Paper - I add two different papers to each page
Template - stain layers, etc - I color using edit>fill
Elements - I add a couple of ornaments near the page numbers.
Transfers - I add transfers that I think will enhance and contain the focal photo or that help bring colors from one page to the other.
Brushes - I like to stamp artstrokes, paper textures, and stains where they add interest to the page.

These are the unique things I did on this page.
I used an artsy paper and selected portions to add blue to using edit>fill. The blue was so I could bring blue onto both pages. I did one of the hipster plumes in pink-purple and colored the white flower that way. Again to bring the color from the other page over.
