Here's my entry for the first Oscraps Creative Challenge - my childhood dream, using the very yummy new collab kit "Hopes and Dreams" - rest 100% Oscraps.
Journalling reads:
As a child every year when I cut my birthday cake I would wish for a pony. I had very little riding experience, barring 2 or 3 times a year on my cousin, Sophias placid pony Trixie. Every year it was a futile wish; we lived in the middle of London and ponies lived in fields in the country, right? Mummy knew of my desire and totally understood, as she too, had wished for exactly the same thing all her childhood too.
When I was almost 12, Mummy decided the lure of the horses should be acted upon, and we all started riding in Hyde Park. Yep, slap bang in the middle of London, with not a field within 20 miles. We were all smitten. My 12th birthday wish was the same as before, but with a longing that was now painful. Six weeks later, we went to help out at the stables on Christmas morning, and what should we find..a huge bow around Jacks neck with a message on saying Happy Christmas Selena & Emilie. It brings tears to my eyes even now, 30 years later, to think of how unbelievably ecstatic I felt. Jack truly was the best Christmas present I have ever had. And he was just the first of many ponies I have loved and been proud to call my own.
I consider myself so lucky to have attained my early dream aged only 12. My poor mother had to wait until she was 36 before she could finally say she owned her own pony! And now it looks like my daughter might be headed the same way.
