Letter pages 3 & 4 of 4.

We were suppose to have gotten and [sic] new table and chair set with out [sic] income tax refund but between the time we found what we wanted and the check came the money was all spent in car insurance and life insurance. The few dollars that were left went on a few essential clothes. Poor Joan still hasn’t gotten her Easter shoes. This is one of the first things we want to buy with the money I earn. I mean the table and chairs and shoes too. Our set with only 4 chairs is really too small for us now. Have you gotten your desk and chair yet. Isn’t it fun buying new furniture!

We got a nice big picture that belonged to Jack’s Uncle Don. It’s at least 3 feet wide of a ship on sort stormy waters. Uncle Don had it painted. I also got a cut crystal vase and that is still at Jack’s mothers. OH, Jack also got five of Uncle Don’s suits as he was the only one who they fit. He also got a cashmire [sic] coat and a few shirts. The estate is far from being settled althou [sic] they sold the boat for $11,000 and the car for $900.00 cash.

Joan’s feet are pretty straight as far as I can tell and she goes out for a check up next month. We registered Johnnie for Kindergarten for next fall at St. James and Ann for 1st grade. They both got in.

Johnnie was so thrilled he wanted to go the next day. Ann thought she could start 1st grade too. With all this extra tuition for next year this extra money will really come in handy.
