Journaling

On the 15th of November 1961, we received our orders to the 6974th Support Squadron at Fort Myer, Arlington, Virginia. In actuality, Dad would work
at the Pentagon.

We departed Alaska on the 19th of December at 20:10 hundred hours on flight CKA728 (Cook Inlet Aviation Flight 728). We had 42 travel days to Virginia.

After arriving in McChord AFB, we picked up our car in Seattle and drove to Santa Rosa, California. When spent Christmas at Grandma & Grandpa Schindlers. Before leaving California, we visited with Mom’s siblings in San Lorenzo (Betty & Bruno), Mokelumne Hill (Herb & Judy0, and San Jose (Virginia & Tom). After leaving Santa Rosa we drove to Scarsdale where we stayed while Dad went to Arlington. Once we had quarters we followed Dad to Virginia.
