Dad stayed in Santa Rosa for 10 days until the 27th of November at 23:00 hours. From there he went to San Francisco and boarded a commercial aircraft to the Seattle Tacoma Airport arriving at McChord AFB at 0600 on the 28th. He checked into transient quarters for the night and departed on the 29th at 09:30 on a military aircraft for Elmendorf AFB arriving at 14:00 hours. It would be 5 months before he would see his family again.
