Happy Birthday

Trying to minimize paper keepsakes and preserve them
via digital art. This image, greeting, and signature are from a Birthday card my maternal Great Grandmother sent my Grandmother. It wasn't dated...guessing it was sent in the 1930s or 40s.

12x12 Page HipsterPlume FotoBlendz (retired)
12X12 Page Overlays No. 3_4 (retired)

Process: Chose Take Flight Solid Paper 3 for background of Artsy Layered Template. Clipped greeting card image to two of the framed masks (omitted the third) and decreased size. Clipped female illustration from greeting card to WaterColor clipping mask and placed on page. Clipped text from interior of greeting card to template white paint (upper right corner). Used partial ArtsyPaint as a mask for signature. Colored template stains and art strokes. Placed Take Flight 1_8 brush in left bottom corner and colored blue. Added transfers, texture, text, title, and embellishments. Flattened all above layers and clipped to 12x12 clipping mask again using Take Flight Solid Paper 3 as the background. Added 12X12 Page Overlays 3_4 as border and colored a pale pink.
An ingenious idea...I have a stash of ancient birthday cards...and the inspiration bell just went off....

Beautiful memory preserved! Wonderful idea, I have a few like this also!

Oh I just adore this image! yes looks very 1930's, those soft sweet pastels. Love what you did with the hearts and the frames. I too have been using photos of ephemera and mostly discarding the paper, but it's not easy ;-)

Ditto what everyone else has said: you've perfectly capture the charm of this family treasure.
