There are several varieties of the shearwater. Because it has one of the longest migrations of any animals and only goes on land for breeding season little is known about this bird.
The day we saw them there were 100s (no exaggeration!) in the sky and water. I combined 2 photos to give the impact of birds, birds, birds!
