My daughter has begun to send me photos from her 3-week honeymoon in Southeast Asiathis photo was taken a few days ago from the window of their apartment building in Hanoi, Vietnam. To begin, I chose a plain background paper (Solid paper #5 from the Luster Artplay Palette) and blended my photo into it with inverse masking. I added the wordART just to get that out of the way, then filled in the background with a variety of Artsy Transfers layered one on top of another. Mostly I left the Transfers as they fell, but here and there I adjusted a layer by changing the size, position, or blending mode. To keep up with the changes in color and tone as the layers built up, and to add a little color pop, I added a duplicate of my masked photo on linear burn blending mode at reduced opacity. For embellishments, I stuck with items from the Artplay Palettes that matched the Artsy Transfers I had selected, for ease of design and to keep things coordinated. The Asian Script brushwork was the final touch.
