The old meets the new... The modern highway leading over the Columbia River to Washington is on the left in the top photo, to the right of it is the John Day Dam creating electricity. On the far right are old Indian houses, and in the middle left photo you can see an ancient Dip net pole suspended over the river, where the Indians still catch fish... August 2017
