these are photos from our last hope of seeing the little egret - we did not have any luck (as an aside the little egret was seen right here the next day, of course) I did get see a bald eagle and I loved that!

I had no idea that there were so many types of egrets- you will have to go back to see if you can find the little one soon. Love the bald eagle- great photo!

Next time I see an egret or a heron, I know to look much more closely. I too had no idea there were so many kinds.

Wonderful page and journaling. I'm also a birder and I chuckled at the little egret being seen the next day....isn't that always the case!

The travail of being a birder! I know it well! Keep hunting for that little egret...you'll get it in your lifetime bird book sooner or later. Just got back from a long trip with a list of "maybes" on a ton of sea birds...so much to learn to figure out who's who!
