While in Havana, we saw a statue of an older man. Apparently, this gentleman would wander the street, greeting people and giving away food. They called him El Caballero de Paris. When he died, a statue was erected in his memory. Tradition says that if you stroke his beard and touch his outstretched finger as you pass, you will receive good luck. If you look, you can see that his beard and finger are highly polished by the number of people who touch them as they walk past.
