Carolyn & LJ

I just came back from a trip to visit my mom and dad in Alabama. They live right across the street from my aunt and uncle, so we were able to visit with them as well. Yesterday I learned that my uncle died in his sleep. It is so hard to think of a world without his shining soul, always laughing and making jokes to brighten everyones spirits. I am so thankful that my dh and I had the opportunity to spent some time with him. Although he was 79, and had some health issues, it was unexpected. It has reminded me that you have to make every moment and every opportunity count!!! He will be dearly missed.

Journaling reads: They married when Carolyn was just 15 and LJ was 17. You could tell just by looking at them how much they loved each other.

After a few years of marriage, LJ joined the 82nd Airborne. After his initial enlistment, he joined the Navy. While in the military, he and Carolyn lived in Alaska, Washington and Oregon. After his military service, they settled in Alabama.

In my eyes, even as they grew old, they always seemed like teenagers in-love. with such sparkle in their eyes.
