Many years ago while sharing with my teenage daughters mistakes I made growing up, I told them I wish I had never met their father. My whole outlook on life's disappointments changed when my oldest said, "But mom, if you hadn't met our father, we would not exist." That simple sentence changed how I look at any heartbreak or disappointment forever since.
