Blanket Statement

Taking a break from my family vacation album to document a new knitting project using the fabulous Fiber collection. (Discounted for a limited time AND includes bonus pack when purchased by August 23 https://www.oscraps.com/shop/ArtPlay-Fabric-Collection.html)

I began by randomly selecting an Artsy Paper (#4) and placing the blanket photo atop. I experimented with several blend modes, but wound up leaving the photo on “normal” and blending it into the contours of the background with layer-masking and an artsy brush instead. For texture, I then added the bonus paper from the Collection and changed Artsy Paper #4 to multiply blend mode. I then slipped the photo of my grandson under the blanket photo, using overlay blend mode. Rather than brush-blending the sharp edge of that photo, I imported a mask from the Fiber Fotoblendz, duplicated and clipped the photo, and that blended off the edge. I added the WordART, a multimedia element, and a rusty hinge. I pretty much always finish off a layout with a selection of transfers/overlays from the artplay palette, so that is what I did here.

Love your title and the journaling-"get lost in the mesmerizing variegated colors--they are as brilliant as he is"! A very much loved little one. A most touching page.
So loved. And thank you so much for noticing the journaling! Getting the story told is always my first priority.

This is very cool! Love the difference between the top and bottom, subtle/neutral vs the explosion of colors in the yarn. Truly excellent!
That yarn is riotous and I'm loving knitting with it. Thanks for sending good vibes!

All those gorgeous wools will make a beautiful blanket. Lucky Elliott! I love how you put this fabulous page together and thank you for telling us the steps you took.
Very welcome. I love how the aA supplies make things look so sophisticated when it's simply a matter of moving layers around and clicking buttons (I'm still using Photoshop Elements 14 LOL).
