I picked the Artsy Transfer (#5) that would match the paper I wanted to use (Artsy #3), and aligned the layers of the Artsy Transfer over the pattern on the paper. I did this because I wanted to clip duplicates of my photo to the transfer layers to shake up color and texture and disguise the many imperfections in my old photo. I wound up using 8 duplicates of the photo.

I also duplicated some of the artsy transfer layers, achieving some nice spotlight effects with a layer called white, by duplicating it, clipping the photo to it, and playing with different blending modes.

Being that the photo had a hard right edge with not much room for blending, I didn't even bother, just used layer masks and various layers of artsy transfer #3 to cover up the seam as best I could

The stain and spatter brushes and the seashells finished this composition.
