Artsy Layered Template No. 228

When I looked at APP Swell I thought of a tropical beach and not the kind of beach we have in Maine. So I decided to look up some Florida beach photos that I had. That's when I discovered these wonderful sunrise pictures.

Process
Start with the Artsy-Layered-Template-No 228. I decided to post the pictures as the sunrise goes from reds to golds and to pinks and purples. I would use the picture with the reds as my focal photo, placed this over the fotoblendz mask and clipped it to the mask using - Layer-Create Clipping Mask. But the picture had a dead tree trunk and I wanted a beautiful palm. So I took the picture I had of the palm tree taken at the same time and placed it over the first picture. I reduced the opacity so I could see the trunk of the other dead tree, when they were lined up I used the Magic Wand tool to click on the palm tree. Then I clicked on the Add Layer Mask icon. So on the top photo only the palm tree showed.

I placed Solid Paper6 above the background layer. It looks like sea sand. Next I added each of the other pictures to the frame masks. In the order as the sun rises and the colors become softer. Then I used the png version of MultiMedia Frame 4 on the last photo.

I added color to each of the layers of Artsy Template, matching the colors to the pictures. Then I thought the paper boat would look good on the focal photo. But the stark whiteness of the boat didn't fit so I added a black and white adjustment layer and clipped to the boat so now the boat was a silhouette like the tree.

I added three sea shells and a ribbon by the photos and below them added a white stain. I added another stain on the left edge. I also put three copies of a word transfer where there were holes in the layers. I used the brush that resembled a beach horizon and added to the page as this is what the beach looked like further down. For the title I added the wood word Beach which I colored using Hue/saturation adjustment. I used Sunset font for the word Sunrise and rasterized the word and did a one pixel stroke in yellow. Lastly I added the journaling.
For real? That is fabulous! The sky is on fire. Love the wonderful, neutral sandy backdrop for that gorgeous sky.
