I grew up in the North-Eastern United States, so we had glorious color change to the trees each October. In Southern California, we have a few trees that change, but most do not, as the winters are quite mild. We do have the Sweet Gum Tree which has leave that resemble a Maple Tree. The leaves do turn red in the autumn and winter months. I am not an early riser, but one morning I got up and noticed fog (seldom see in Poway), and noticed the trees seemed to be glowing. I grabbed my camera and ran across the street having enough time for one of two shots before the sun came up and quickly burned away the fog. I was probably about a month too late to get full color, as most of the leaves had already fallen off the tree, so I will be on the lookout for that perfect chance again soon.
Guineveres page was such great inspiration, and I really enjoyed lifting her gorgeous page https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=293690&title=winter&cat=1351. Thanks Guinevere.

The Process: Lifting a page is so much fun. It allows you to follow a page layout, to mimic what you see, or you can use just one aspect to use as inspiration, and take things in a whole new direction. I followed the elements of the original AnnaLift page by Guinevere, but added a bit her and there. I began with a solid background paper, and added a fotoblendz. I attached the photo to this fotoblendz, and then placed a number of additional fotoblendz behind it. The fotoblendz behind the photo was modified by changing both color and blend mode, playing around with the different blend modes until I liked the effect. I added a number of additional transfers, again playing with the blend modes. Once the base was complete, I added the frame, and then brought in a variety of elements, placing them on the lower right of the framed image. I finished up with a bit of stitching, the pearl, and the photo location and date in the lower left of the page.
