I really liked a paper in the Between Seasons Collection by Palvinka Designs that has thick mixed media paint stroke on it. So I decided to create a layout that would let these paint strokes shine.

I started with the paper, brought in my photo, and then the wood frame. Next I spent some time playing with the different embellishments in the kit. I like the pine cones, so I started with them and slowly built up a cluster of elements in the upper left corner. Then I played around with the overall size of everything on the background paper, so that the lovely paint strokes would show. Next I added the word art. Then I slipped a solid, textural paper behind and rotated everything at a slight angle.

The word art says "memories" over a repeated line that says "These quiet days remind me how beautiful simple memories can be."
