Austin has this new AMAZING library downtown. It took 7 years to build and cost 125 Million. Crazy, huh? But did I mention that it's amazing? Here are a few details.
This new public library is something else. Six floors, 200, 000 sq ft of books with collections displayed to encourage discovery. Situated on the banks of the Colorado River or as Austinites say Lady Bird Lake, it features two reading porches, an indoor reading room and a landmark public gathering atrium space adjacent to Shoal Creek. And theres a Book Caf with outdoor dining, a Recycled Reads Gift Shop, along with a gallery space featuring local and national artists.
Also, one of my all-time favorite collage artist, Lance Letscher, has the first exhibit. The first exhibit, Lance Letscher: Books, features over 35 art pieces created by this Austinite and internationally renowned collage artist. Photos from the Austin Public Library
Process:
Using templates are an easy way to showcase multiple photos. I opened up the template 5 from Project Template Album No. 3B, placed my photos and clipped my photos to the masks. I used solidPaper No. 2 from ArtPlay Palette as my background and duplicated it, making it darker by using blend mode of color burn at 37%. Because I had lots of photos of the library, I duplicate one photo and moved it to the right side. I only added one small embellishments, because I liked the nice, clean look. Added my title and subhead and was done. Easy peasy.
Thanks for looking.
