37 58' 36.54" N 107 45' 22.5" W The original mining claim was found around 1876, but the manufacturing was in 1900. It had a relatively short period of operation. Today there still remains a great deal of equipment at the mouth of the mine. The transformer house still stands and tracks and cables connect the high mine to the ruins of the immense stamp mill. The driving wheels and crankshafts still stand in the stamphouse. The town of Sneffels surrounded the mill at one time.

Journaling:
In the afternoon we drove up the canyon toward Yankee Boy Basin. Just before the Y to Governor Basin we stopped at the large ruins that turned out to be the Atlas mine. It started to rain and we turned back.

I prefer a single photo with plenty of white space, but the only way to get the overall sense of this huge mine is with multiple photos.
I like how well that you used the multi photos..it is always amazing to me to find these great stories and the abandoned art .

Love your title work!! I like the multiple photos on your page, with the white behind and the neutral background paper it isn't too much at all:)

Love the photos of the old mine and the title work! The multiple photos work well on the page!
