WOW this was fun. Thank you Ann for posting this tutorial on Anna's blog http://annaaspnes.typepad.com/anna/2015/03/artsy-composite-techniques-part-5-of-6.html
I used two landscape backgrounds, one sunset and one city scene. The silhouette was easy to find on the internet just for this initial procedure. I followed the tutorial explaining how to create a mask from the silhouette and placed it below the landscape images where I tried different blend modes for each image and got very different results but settled for Luminosity for the lower image and screen for the upper image. I also tried some different Layer Styles on the silhouette. Stroke with a black color and at the same time Outer Glow/Spread 41/Size 49 and a Dissolve Blend. On the second silhouette I added a stroke in black but in the layer's panel reduced the fill to 15% which made it transparent except for the stroke. Finally added some word art and a star brush. Whew
