AnnaMakeover - a mother's angst

This is a makeover of Ambers page A Mothers Angst.
Amber wanted to keep the photo and the journaling and have a page that expressed some of the emotion of her journaling.
I went with a softer, faded color palette representative of the love Amber has for G and of the transitory nature of childhood. I added the more recent photo of G to emphasize the amazing change from 2 to 7 and I tried to pick elements that fit with Ambers journaling.
Sometimes, when I have a lot of journaling, I tilt it a bit. It helps to break up the page and add a bit of interest. In this case, the tilted journaling worked with Ambers feelings of angst. I loved that Ambers title had her daughters initial as one of the letters, so I played with that and gave the g a lift.
Journaling: Just before she turned 2 years old, Georgia had her U6 at the pediatricians. This is the 2-year check-up where they look at language growth and fine motor skills (both of which she passed with -more or less- flying colors). And then the ped dropped the bomb on us: he claimed she had jumped in one year from being in the 3% to being in the 97% for weight. The doctor read us a long, long, lecture that upset me to no end as it was not helpful, just accusatory. I left that appointment feeling awful, I blogged about it, I ranted about it to anyone who would listen, I cried about it. And in the end? it was a whole lot of angst for a bit of baby fat that hadnt melted off yet, something it would indeed do within the next few weeks. Yes, in a matter of weeks, that sweet, baby-face, those pudgy arms and knees would disappear and leave a little girl in the place of my baby. Lesson learned: Doctors do not always know best, dont let them take away from the joy you have in your baby, shes only a baby for a blink of time that you should hold on to while you can.
