AnnaLift - Kenny

This one was a hard one to create as I found myself crying much of the time. Looking at the photo, you can see an adobe structure in the reflection of his glasses. I think those are typical structures there, and I know the conditions are horrid in Afghanistan, but his fellow soldiers say never once did he complain - he was always upbeat and the one lifting other's spirits. I had wanted to create and post it on 911, but couldn't get it done such that I was happy with it. The inspiration of this weeks AnnaLift (by Rita006), did the trick.

Journaling reads: Although I never met Kenny, I felt like I knew him through all of Rachels stories about him. Now I dont go a day without thinking of his sacrifice. He was one of 6 from the 101st Airborne that died on December 12, 2010 by a roadside bomber in Afghanistan. He was only 21 years old. Rachel has taken his death hard, as it is so difficult for someone young to handle any death, let alone someone as young as Kenny. His family was everything to him. He was a fun loving, sweet and caring man who dreamt of going into law enforcement after the war. I am proud of this hometown hero - that he fought to keep us free. I feel he still looks over us - he is our hero - our angel. I think of him daily, as a reminder of how fragile and precious life is.
Rest In Peace Corporal Kenneth Necochea.

Such a sad story! I can't say anything smart for my bad English, just my admiration for your brilliant work and the boy you dedicate it!

Such an AMAZING tribute to one who has sacrificed so much. One very POWERFUL page. It is impossible to put into proper words the feelings this evokes.
