The Aeolian Islands (Isole Eolie in Italian) or Lipari Islands
named after the main island, are a volcanic archipelago
north of Sicily in the Tyrrhenian Sea in Italy.
For more than two centuries, the islands have been a
ideal for the study of volcanology and geology.
