AnnaColorChallenge -That Crazy Look You Get

. you get when a layout isnt coming together. I started this quite sometime ago and wasnt even sure I was going to post it. I created this just for me at a time I was going through some creative frustration and that happens to all of us, especially if youre anal like me. But we also know that this too shall pass and we come out of it even more creative at the end. Thats the goal anyway.

Process Notes: Since this has an insane amount of supplies and room is short, I will make this fast. This is kind of a digital throw it up and see what sticks kind of thing. Very free form craziness. The majority of the layout is APP Art Life starting with artsy paper 1. I brought in the mask from the palette sans the stroke frame.

Making my photo b/w and clipping it to the mask and using the gradient tool and colors from the palette to color my photo. I duplicated the photo and using Threshold, I clipped it down to the previous layers. Adding a color overlay to the threshold photo and blending. I also blended the gradient layer.

With the exception of the word art, elements and title, everything else is brush work using colors from the page and blending away. Its freeing opening a page without any preconceived notions and just letting it happen as it may. Like I said, craziness.
I just did the same thing! How weird! Pressing all sorts of keys in the Tools-I-Never-Go-To-Land just to take a break from all my recent template-making. Definitely freeing, as you say. I think it's terrific. I love your self-portrait and the zany vibe. Well done!

this is SO cool! I love the colours, photo treatment, and brush work. You have such a great eye for detail!

wow, Barbara this is so unique and cool, I love all the things you did, it's great to trying things and show us, you learn so much in this way. A great job, love all the colors, it's so great!! ;)

This has an energy and vibrancy which is wonderful! Sometimes we just have to 'let it all hang out' and it works!

Fabulous, just fabulous. What a creative mix of a photo, scribbles and elements. Love it all.
