Process:

These are the first two photos that my daughter texted me from her recent business trip to Hawaii. I added the photo of the praying mantis to the template mask, then blended in the sunset photo. I chose an artsy paper for the background because I wanted the deep blue that I associate with Hawaii, and also added blue overlays from the artplay palette. I did the journaling, added the paper leaves, which suggested palm fronds to me, and then distressed the layout with Artsy Paper #2 at reduced opacity and blending brushes. Lastly I attached Urban Threads, buttons, and a Beaded Threadz with the letters recombined to spell Aloha.
