The Virus and Us (Tom Soma)
Were not sure how it surfaced,
or where it goes from here.
Its evolutionary path
Is equally unclear.
It has discriminating taste--
uneven in its sway.
To some benign, to others cruel;
quite fickle in its way.
It wears disguise, and hides for days
before it shows its face.
To deem it somewhat insincere
appears a cogent case.
Its presence on the planet now
is Natures mystery.
As for its deep significance--
well have to wait and see.
It looks to me, with all respect,
this Coronavirus
may, in surprising ways, reflect
a shadow side of us...
