Journaling reads: Cricket is the lone dog of the family. We believe she was abused before we got her as she has difficulty with men. For extra exercise, we bring her up to the stable with us. She has begun to warm up to people, and really enjoys her time running around hunting bunnies - which she never catches. She never strays too far from us, as we can tell she always has her eye on where we are.
When introduced to Pattis dog Bryce, I was concerned that his rough demeanor would cause Cricket to dislike him, but she took to him immediately she is just sure to let him know when he is being too rough, with a quick bark or nip. She doesnt even mind Bryces need to be the center of attention, pushing her out of the way as he presses up against whatever person is closest to Cricket. Bryce is getting her to come of out her shell a bit, as she is now confident enough to run off with Bryce from time to time to investigate things around the stable. I can tell they look to each other for recognition, and have become great friends.
