Many years ago the San Jose Tech Museum had an exhibit which scanned your face and printed an image that reminded me of a marble bust. I finally get to use my copy in digital art.

I'm taking Jana Morton's "Inspired Images" class at Creative Passion. Some of her techniques I tried out include stacking layers created by applying a threshold layer to photos on top of "pencil sketches" on top of a base photo layer, putting photos in a small grid to make a pattern and repeating differently colored groups.
I also ran into a great photo to sketch approach which I like a lot better than most I've found on the internet b/c it relies on smart filters. I wrote it up at https://sites.google.com/site/scrapwithmugcheck/photo-to-sketch
