Angst

This is another of my drawings I did way back in high school and I must have felt tormented that day. Teenage angst. Everything was so dramatic when we were teenagers, no wonder nobody wants to go back to those days. This was done with charcoal on a sketch pad, so its pretty darn cool that Anna came out with some charcoal brushes. Of course I used them on this layout. I didnt have any one kind of style of drawing, I experimented around as the mood struck me, but it was important to me that each portrait told a tale.

Notes: After opening a new 12x12 file in PS, I used three different artsy paints and one artsy stain on separate layers in the layers panel to make a mask. I clipped a copy of the drawing to each of those layers and arranged the paints and stain to my liking. After bringing in artsy paper 1 as the foundation, I blended each of the layers into the paper. I grouped the drawing clipping set.

Above the grouped layers a charcoal brush was used up at the hair on the left and another running towards the right side of the page. Splatters were added using a color from the palette, also leading to the right. Underneath the splatters and word art transfer was placed and the title typed out over it. A paper texture is framing the drawing.

Over these layers the MM Flowers was added, using all the layers. The flower petals was added last and that finished this page.
Wow, wow, wow! This certainly represents those teenage years! I've got some drawings just like this from back in the day! How'd we ever survive? I do love that quote.... I'll have to pass it along to our kids entering those teenage years!

Definitely says angst. Wonderful way to showcase your early art. I hope we get to see more of these.
