'Unprepared'

Journaling: Unprepared. We lost Mai to Alzheimers Disease on 24th November 2016 only 18 months after her diagnosis. Wed had just enjoyed the main course and I was dishing up pie when his Dad looked up from his phone and uttered the words that Mai had died. Eric and I didnt even hear it at first. We are were completely unprepared, not that anyone can be ready for something like this. The truth is we arent really ready for any of this: Life, death and all that goes in between. I believe we are spiritual beings leading a human existence for a short while challenging everything we thought we knew about living. Mai and I didnt have much in common, but we agreed on motherhood and family. Love fiercely and keep doing the work. She will remain always in our hearts as we were always part of hers.
