Text:
Tis the season to be jolly! I have numerous, delightful Christmas memories but the one I want to share has nothing to do with toys, shopping, or dancing sugarplums. Im always a bit disappointed when it doesnt snow on Christmas. The lack of snow isnt a total bummer, but more like a sigh accompanied by the fleeting thought, Maybe next year.
On Christmas Eve when I was nine, my sister and I dressed for church in our holiday skirts, sweaters, knee socks, and wool coats. Boots werent necessary as the chances of snow were slim. Dad parked the car behind the church and we entered the small, Gothic-style building. After a heartwarming service filled with joy, we walked our sleepy selves out the back door of the church. Ill never forget the sight. A beautiful blanket of snow covered the earth and continued to fall gently, steadily, silently. We all stood in quiet wonder admiring our White Christmas.
