Have you ever had an experience that seemed there was no possible way it could have any long-term positive effects? That is how I feel about having Lyme disease. I try to educate and advocate within the Lyme Community, as well as for my family, all of whom have this disease. Several years ago, Scott and I participated in discussion panels to educate people within the medical community about the complex, multi-systemic issues we face. These discussions were filmed to be part of a documentary, A Ticking Time Bomb. Next week, this film is being screened at the NJ Film Festival. Being part of this, helping to spread awareness, to educate, to advocate, to put human faces on the epidemic, well, that is what I call a long-term positive effect.
