Despite Santas visit,
it was a blue Christmas.
My maternal Grandfather
died suddenly in May 1955
and my paternal Grandfather
died the same year on
Christmas Eve after
spending months in the
VA hospital with lung cancer
(he smoked a pipe). For
years, on December 24th,
one could note a hint
of sadness amidst the
holiday cheer.

Beautiful page! Love the wonderful photo and texture! Sometimes Christmas' can bring good and sad memories. My daughter was born on Christmas day and my husband's brother died Christmas night (not the same year). We celebrate, but always have a moment of remembering.

Love the vintage photo and the almost not seen Santa. Sorry it was not filled with wonderful memories. Sometimes Christmas can bring such sad memories.

I, too, love your photo -- It's hard, as an adult, when sad and happy get mixed together ... can't imagine it as a child. This is going to be a beautiful book.
