Durbuy, December 26, 1982
In the early years that Dirk and I were married, we went with Dirk's family to the Ardennes between Christmas and New Years. My in-laws rented a bungalow for the whole family. The rest of the family celebrated Christmas Eve in the Ardennes. We celebrated that evening with my family and on Christmas Day we drove to Durbuy. It was a happy time when I think about it. Sometimes we went for a walk together - sometimes everyone did something separately ... no one was obliged ....
There was a turn to cook, do the dishes, clean...
In the evening they played cards ... until late ... or very late ...
A nice beer and chips...I think we've been doing this for about seven or eight years...Unfortunately it never snowed when we were there. And then the bungalows had to be renovated ... and the tradition was discontinued ...
